Which BYOC PDF mode should I choose: Editable reconstruction or Original PDF overlay?
When you upload a PDF to BYOC, you can choose between two different workflows. The right one depends on whether you want to rewrite the contract or preserve it exactly as-is.

| Editable reconstruction | You want AI to rebuild the contract into the editor so you can rewrite clauses directly. | The PDF is parsed into sections and fields, then opened as editable BYOC content. |
| Original PDF overlay | You want to keep the uploaded PDF visually intact and place fill/sign fields on top. | The original PDF becomes the signing surface. You place recipient fields and signature spots over the existing pages. |
Choose Original PDF overlay when the PDF already looks final and you mainly need digital completion and signatures. Choose Editable reconstruction when you still need to actively rewrite the document inside EEZYDOX.
Tip: If your lawyer already gave you the final PDF layout, overlay mode is usually the fastest and safest path.
