BYOC

How do I insert fields and signatures into my BYOC contract?

First add at least one party, then place fields or signature blocks in the agreement. BYOC needs a party before it can safely assign recipient-filled or signature fields.

Original PDF overlay

  1. Open Parties and add the signer or recipient.
  2. Open Fields, drag a field from the palette, and drop it on the PDF.
  3. Click fallback placement is also supported: BYOC places the new field in the visible page area, selects it, and opens the editing controls.

Editable BYOC Editor

  1. Place your cursor where you want the field, then click Insert Field or Signature in the toolbar.
  2. Select the field or party from the dropdown.
  3. If there is no active cursor, BYOC inserts the field at the end, scrolls to it, and highlights it so you can find it immediately.

Fields appear as colored badges or overlay boxes, depending on the BYOC mode. Clicking a field selects it and takes you to the controls where you edit the label, value, assignee, and required state.

Important: Every party must have at least one signature block placed in the document. The system will block locking if any party is missing a signature spot.
