Agreements
Why is my agreement showing as 'Locked' and what can I do?
The Locked status means the agreement has been finalized and all editing/signing capabilities have been disabled. This happens when:
- All parties signed and the system locked it automatically — this is the expected flow after successful completion.
- The owner manually locked the agreement — the owner can lock an agreement once all signatures are collected.
- A system error during finalization — in rare cases, the agreement may be set to Locked but the certified PDF was not fully generated.
If you need to unlock:
- Only the agreement owner can unlock a locked agreement.
- Open the agreement in the editor.
- Click the Unlock button in the toolbar.
- The agreement will revert to Draft status.
- All existing signatures will be voided and must be collected again.
Important: Unlocking a locked agreement removes all signatures and evidence bundles. All parties will need to sign again. Only unlock if absolutely necessary.
Tip: If you see a "Locked" status but you cannot access the completion or download page, try unlocking and re-signing. If the issue persists, contact [email protected].
