AI drafting

How does BYOC Create with AI work, and how do regenerations work?

BYOC now supports three starting modes: upload a PDF, paste text, or Create with AI. Create with AI lets you start from scratch by filling a guided brief, then opens the result in the normal BYOC editor with fields and signature placeholders already prepared.

CREATE WITH AI FLOW
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
1) CHOOSE "CREATE WITH AI"
2) COMPLETE THE BRIEF
3) ACCEPT THE AI DISCLOSURE
4) GENERATE THE FIRST DRAFT
5) REVIEW IN THE BYOC EDITOR
6) REGENERATE FROM THE EDITOR IF NEEDED
7) LOCK AND SEND FOR SIGNING

1. Start the AI flow

  • On the BYOC entry screen, choose Create with AI instead of Upload PDF or Paste Text.
  • This mode is for drafting a new agreement from scratch rather than importing an existing document.

2. Complete the stepped brief

  • The brief asks for output language, contract family/type, governing law, jurisdiction/courts, parties, key business terms, and special instructions.
  • The flow is multilingual and supports English, Hebrew, Russian, Arabic, and French output.
  • The more precise your brief is, the easier it is to tailor the first draft accurately.

3. Review the AI disclosure

  • Before generation, you must confirm the AI drafting disclosure.
  • AI drafting helps produce a working first draft, but human legal review is still required before sending or signing.

4. Generate the first draft

  • After generation, the agreement opens in the normal BYOC editor rather than a separate AI-only screen.
  • Sections, editable fields, parties, and signature placeholders are prepared automatically so you can continue editing immediately.

5. What answers are saved

  • The latest AI brief is saved on the BYOC contract in the database.
  • Each generation attempt also stores its exact submitted brief as immutable history.
  • If you reopen the same agreement later, the latest saved brief can be used again.

6. How regeneration works

  • Regeneration starts from the BYOC editor through the AI draft button/dialog.
  • The modal preloads the previous brief so you do not need to retype everything.
  • You can change the saved answers before regenerating, including parties, legal settings, key terms, and special instructions.

7. Regeneration limits and overwrite behavior

  • You get 1 initial generation plus up to 3 regenerations, for a maximum of 4 attempts total.
  • After the first successful generation, the editor shows how many regenerations remain.
  • Regeneration replaces the current draft content, sections, fields, and parties as one full-document rewrite.
  • If you already made manual edits, the system asks you to confirm the overwrite before continuing.

8. Restarting from the same agreement

  • If you start again from the same BYOC agreement, the saved AI brief can be prefilled from the database.
  • Starting over on the same agreement is useful when you want to retry with clearer instructions without losing the brief itself.

9. Final review before lock

  • Always verify governing law, jurisdiction, party details, payment terms, dates, and signature placement before locking.
  • Use regeneration when the commercial setup needs to change; use the editor when the draft is mostly right and just needs manual polish.
Tip: If the first draft is close but not perfect, open the regeneration dialog from the editor and adjust the brief there instead of starting a new agreement.
Important: Create with AI is designed to always give you a workable draft for in-scope agreements, but you should still treat the result as a first draft that requires human review before signature.
